我的创作基本分为四步：第一步叙述：我自创的故事是整个创作的基础；第二步绘画：将第一步提到的故事通过绘画表现出来，通常采用戏剧性或类似电影情节串连的方式；第三步成形作品：故事中的人物通过三维形式雕塑出来，有时候雕塑也会表现一些绘画中没有却参与了故事情节的角色。尽管陶瓷已是我研究的主要材料，但是大家依然可看出这次的雕塑作品还是相当多的；第四步最终定位：故事变成了真实的形象，各种物体也在特定的背景下活了起来。这次在富平的创作名为“领导会见雕塑家之后的那个晚上”，即领导参观完工作室之后的艺术家和他的雕塑作品。在这个“艺术家的工作室”，你可以看到书房，人物塑像，领导的小型雕像。
Most of my working process comprises four steps. First the narrative: stories that I create ground the whole construction of the work. Second step is the drawing: the narratives as mentioned are then illustrated through a series of drawings that often take form as comics or resemble a film storyboard. The third step is the final objects itself: sculptures of figures that serve as three dimensional manifestations of characters in the drawings/stories, or can also represent other characters that are non-existent in the drawings but still taking part in the stories. The visualization of these sculptures are numerous, though ceramics has become one of my main materials of exploration. The last step is the final setting: the narratives manifested into images and objects are realized in a particular setting. The work I made here in Fuping is called ‘The night after the sculptor meets the leader’, an artist and his sculptures after a leader has visited the artists studio. This is an artists studio which shows studies, portraits and little statues of the leader. |
